Linking Curse skill gems to Bane will make those skill gems unusable, and they can now only take effect when triggered by Bane. Similarly, when triggered via equipment such as Asenath's Chant, the linked curses will not be triggered by the equipment, but will be triggered and applied by Bane as expected.^{[citation needed]}
