Essences of Envy can be used to upgrade an equipment with a guaranteed affix related to :

• Chaos Resistance
• Chaos Damage

Monsters that possessed by the essence, would Summon a grasping hand (looks like Cold SnapCold Grasp EffectSkill Gem EffectYour Cold Snap becomes a grasping hand of frost), that teleports the player to the monster's location. This can be evaded by moving.
