Warning: Beware of maps with the mod Monsters reflect X% of Physical Damage or Monsters reflect X% of Elemental Damage, because you will be instantly killed if you do that type of damage and do not have a way to mitigate the reflected damage.

There are 3 tiers of maps, indicated by the color on the map icon. White maps are the most common and cheap. Yellow maps are more expensive. Red maps are the most valuable, and are the hardest to run and the most rewarding. When you run maps you'll automatically get a chance at obtaining maps of the next tier. To obtain maximum map drops within a map:

Unlocking Zana[]
Skip this section if you have Zana in your hideout.
Step | Image | Mechanic |
---|---|---|
1 | Run a Tier 3 or higher map, and kill the map boss. Zana should appear next to the map boss. Click her to open the Mission interface. | |
2 | Within the Mission interface, select the highest tier map that you can run. These maps are free and do not spend the maps in your stash. | |
3 | Enter Zana's map portals and complete the map, and slay the boss. Doing so for the first time unlocks Zana in your hideout. | |
4 | Return to your hideout and Zana should be visible. If she is not, add her into your hideout using the Decorations panel. |
Conquerors and Watchstones[]
Skip this section if you know how to find Conquerors and how to use Watchstones.
Step | Image | Mechanic |
---|---|---|
1 | Keep running maps. Once you have reached one of the four corner regions of the atlas (Haewark Hamlet, Lex Ejoris, New Vastir, or Lira Arthain), you will encounter your first influenced map.
"Influnced" maps meaning that one of the Conquerors have arrived on the map and by completing the map you are one step closer to finding their citadel. In this example map, we see icy effects and the appearance of ice golems and dinosaurs, indicating that the map is influenced by Veritania, the Redeemer, the "icy lady". | |
2 | After completing an influenced map in the region, if you open the Atlas of Worlds you will see the Influenced region colored.
Since Veritania, the Redeemer has the light blue color representing ice, the region is colored light blue. Also, the indicator bar (top left of image) shows that we have chased her in 1 map (1 yellow box), and 2 maps are yet to be done (2 blue boxes) to find her citadel.
| |
3 | Complete more maps in the same region to chase Veritania.
In the image shown, Palace MapPalace MapMap Level: 72 | |
4 | After completing the given amount of maps in the same region and chasing down the Conqueror, Kirac and Zana will become highlighted with a quest icon in your hideout.
Talk to Kirac in your hideout to locate the Conqueror, then talk to Zana and select "Travel to [Conqueror's] Citadel". | |
5 | Your map device will open a special set of portals to the Conqueror's citadel. The portals are colored purple, as shown. | |
6 | Complete the map as usual, and defeat the map boss. | |
7 | After defeating the map boss, a special portal will open to the Conqueror's arena, next to the carcass of the dead boss.
Enter the portal. | |
8 | Face off against the Conqueror, in this case Veritania, the Redeemer.
You have 6 tries in total to kill her, after which all the portals to the citadel will close and you will have failed to kill the Conqueror. In this case you will have to repeat from step 1. | |
9 | Once you slay the Conqueror, they will drop a Watchstone.
They will drop either one of these:
| |
10 | Pick up the Watchstone and click on the Watchstone Altar (shown in image). | |
11 | The Atlas will open, and if it is your first Conqueror in the region, a new citadel interface will be displayed in that region, that allows you to socket your watchstone in. | |
12 | Place your watchstone into the socket of the matching color, as shown. | |
13 | Socketing the watchstone allows you to discover more maps in the region, and increases the level of all map drops and even other item drops. | |
14 | If you have a Map stash tab, it will show a coloured indicator on influenced maps.
This example image shows the influence of Al-Hezmin, the Hunter (green box around maps). Complete influenced maps to chase the Conquerors, as you have learnt, or simply complete maps at random to find a new Conqueror (step 1). |
The Maven's Invitation[]
Skip this section if you already have a Maven's Invitation.
Step | Image | Mechanic |
---|---|---|
1 | After running many maps, The Envoy will eventually make an appearance. This is totally random.
After 4-5 appearances on various different maps, the Envoy will be highlighted and will mention that The Maven will be observing you. (Some players report that The Maven only first appears on Tier 5+ maps) | |
2 | Kill the map boss, and as you can see The Maven is present in the boss arena and observing the battle. | |
3 | After slaying the boss, The Maven will drop The Maven's Beacon, which is an untradable quest item. Pick it up. | |
4 | Return to your hideout and add the Maven's Beacon into your Map Device by right-clicking the Beacon and clicking your Map Device.
This permanently upgrades your Map Device, giving you the ability to summon The Maven on your maps. | |
5 | Run the highest tier map you own within the same region, so that the Maven can observe the battle.
Click on the Call The Maven button which requests the The Maven to observe your battle. | |
6 | Complete the map and slay the boss again, you'll notice that The Maven pulsates to indicate that she is pleased. | |
7 | Once you have slain a map boss in The Maven's presence, it will show this message on the map:
The Maven currently holds a recreation of this Map's Boss There is no point running this map as you cannot progress towards the The Maven's Challenge. | |
8 | The Atlas will indicate the region in which you are working for the Maven.
Slay more bosses in the region to gain progress, as shown. After you have slain all the required bosses (3 in this case) you will have to face The Maven's Challenge. | |
9 | After killing the last boss in the region observed by The Maven, she will drop an invitation. Pick it up.
In this example she dropped the Maven's Invitation: Haewark Hamlet. |
The Maven's Crucible[]
Step | Image | Mechanic |
---|---|---|
1 | The Maven's Invitation is a map fragment, so add it into your Map Device and run it. | |
2 | 6 portals will open into The Maven's Crucible. Enter it to begin The Maven's Challenge. | |
3 | All the bosses you have slain and captured will now be displayed in this realm. The Maven will be observing you.
Go to the center of the area and click the device to start the encounter. | |
4 | Defeat all of the bosses that have now re-appeared within the Maven's Crucible. | |
5 | You will be presented with The Maven's Gift, a device that lets you allocate skill points into your Atlas passive skill tree. | |
6 | In this example we have completed the challenge for Haewark Hamlet, and so the Hamlet's atlas skill tree is displayed. | |
7 | We select The Grove's Call which grants us increased frequency of Harvest encounters within maps (The Sacred Grove), and then press Apply to confirm our selection.
Tip: If you are unsure what skills to allocate, close the interface and exit the Crucible. You can allocate your atlas skill points at anytime by opening your Atlas and clicking on the regional citadel button (the icon in the center of the citadel interface). | |
8 | After you are done, use the portals to return to your hideout. |
Atlas Completion[]
Step | Image | Mechanic |
---|---|---|
1 | In order to complete your atlas and grant better map drops, the first step is to discover all the maps. Maps are discovered when you kill the map boss for the first time. This grants the Atlas Bonus for the map.
The message on the left shows after you have been granted the Awakening Bonus for a map by killing its boss under certain conditions. | |
2 | If you have the map stash tab, the indicator lines under a map tell you which bonus you have obtained:
| |
3 | Open your Atlas to see the number of maps for which you have the Atlas Bonus (first number) and Awakening Bonus (second number). | |
4 | Begin by completing all the white maps at least once. This means all the maps from Tier 1 to Tier 5. You need to kill the boss to obtain the Atlas Bonus, and if you have run the Rare version of a map you will automatically obtain the Awakening Bonus as well.
Therefore, you need to run or obtain any map that does NOT have the indicator line in the map stash tab. At least the first indicator line is required to proceed. If you open your Atlas after running all ~80 white maps, it should look like this image. All maps should appear, and all should be interconnected to the other. | |
5 | As you are running the maps you will encounter the conquerors from time to time. Talk to Kirac and Zana to defeat them and obtain watchstones. Socket at least one watchstone in every region.
After running all ~80 white maps, you should have between 4 to 8 watchstones in total. If you have none it's fine, but it means you failed to fight the conquerors and slowed down your atlas progression. | |
6 | Now that you don't need your white maps, collect sets of 3 of the same map (white maps), and vendor them for 1 map of the higher tier.
Tier 5 white maps will convert into Tier 6 yellow maps. | |
7 | The next step is to complete all yellow maps.
To do this, craft 5-10 maps at a time from a single region. Make them at least Rare if you cannot yet run Corrupted Rare. Before running the maps, roll over the region's citadel in the Atlas and ensure you have the correct number of watchstones socketed (the best is to have 4 watchstones socketed). If you have less watchstones, take it out from other regions and place it into this one. Tip: Socket in 4 watchstones in a region's citadel before running yellow/red maps in that region, in order to obtain higher tier maps within that region. | |
8 | If you have sextants like Simple SextantSimple SextantStack Size: 10Adds or rerolls a modifier on a Watchstone.Right click this item then left click a Watchstone to apply it. Shift click to unstack. or Prime SextantPrime SextantStack Size: 10Adds or rerolls a modifier on a Watchstone.Right click this item then left click a Watchstone to apply it. Shift click to unstack. you can right-click the sextant and left-click on any watchstone to add mods to the watchstone. This usually increases mob sizes (more XP) and increases drops (more item quantity). Rolling over a watchstone will show you the mods it has. If sextants are expensive, just use one, otherwise you can re-roll it many times to get the mod you want (if any). Tip: Consider saving watchstones with useful sextant modifiers until you reach a situation where the modifier will be most useful. For example, if you have a watchstone with the modifier 3 uses remaining | |
9 | Check Zana's store daily for new maps. After you have completed the white maps, she will begin offering yellow and red maps. Buying from her store is often cheaper than buying from other players. | |
10 | Now that you have completed all yellow maps, you should have obtained a large quantity of red maps as well (if you ran the Tier 10 yellow maps with 4 watchstones socketed in the region). If you don't have any red maps, you can take some from friends or buy some, as seed maps to obtain more map drops.
Now repeat from step 6 to complete all red maps. If you wish you can run the maps specifically to chase conquerors (by running maps in the region where the conqueror is found). | |
11 | Once you have obtained the first four watchstones, you will be able to freely spawn the Conquerors in any of the regions by placing the watchstones in those regions.
For each cycle of 4 Conquerors you defeat, you will need 1 more watchstone socketed. Hovering over the storage sockets on the left of the atlas, or over each citadel will display which watchstones you still need to obtain in each region, and how many watchstones must be socketed to spawn each Conqueror. | |
12 | Once you have obtained 16 watchstones, the center of your Atlas will now have an indicator for which conquerors you have defeated in the current cycle.
The final step of the quest will require you to kill each Conqueror on a region with 4 watchstones socketed, which will finally allow you to fight Sirus, Awakener of Worlds, the final boss of the Conquerors of the Atlas expansion. After fighting Sirus once, you may keep repeating this cycle and eventually obtain up to 32 watchstones to fully upgrade your atlas. |

Fifth Map Device Slot[]
Step | Image | Mechanic |
---|---|---|
1 | In order to unlock the fifth map device slot, you need to complete a Domain of Timeless Conflict encounter.
All players in the group will get the fifth slot unlocked. The encounter can be started by activating the map device with 4 or more Timeless Emblems:
| |
2 | After the group (or the host) kills all the legion monsters in the map, you unlock the fifth map device slot.
You can use the fifth slot to place one extra scarab or map fragment for more "juiced up" map runs. |
