Hexproof is a keyword and modifier that causes the monsters with it to be unaffected by Hex curse, but can be bypassed under certain conditions. Hexproof doesn't affect Mark curses.

Hexproof is not curse immunity,[1] which prevents both Hexes and Marks from being applied at all.

Hexes on Hexproof enemies can still accumulate Doom.

The player character can have this buff by stealing it from a monster when using Lua error: Error: invalid field alias "items._pageName"; aliases cannot contain dots or quotes.., Lua error: Error: invalid field alias "items._pageName"; aliases cannot contain dots or quotes.. or Lua error: Error: invalid field alias "items._pageName"; aliases cannot contain dots or quotes...

Version history[]

Version Changes
3.12.0
  • Hexproof monsters can now be cursed, but will ignore the effect of any Hexes applied to them (previously curses could not be applied). Hexproof in no way mitigates the effects of a Mark.
3.11.0
  • Now acts like an Immunity effect when gained (such as via Headhunter), and will remove any curses already present on you when gained.
2.3.1
  • Fixed a bug where Hexproof monsters were immune to curses, rather than being Hexproof.
2.3.0
  • Monsters and maps with the Hexproof prefix now grant the Hexproof keyword.
  • Hexproof prevents curses applying, but can be bypassed under certain conditions.
  • Currently only one unique item being added in 2.3.0 will bypass Hexproof, but this power may show up from other sources in the future.
  • Hexproof does not affect curse reduction that unique monsters can have, and will allow for potential Curse Immunity in the future that is absolute and not keyworded as Hexproof.
Unknown
  • Map mod Lua error: Error: invalid field alias "mods.name"; aliases cannot contain dots or quotes.. introduced to the game.
