Incubator is an item class similar to currency items which can be applied to a piece of equipment to guarantee an item drop of a specific type after the specified amount of monsters has been killed. Each equipment can incubate one item at a time, but note that incubators do not incubate on items in swap weapon slots.

Incubators drop from Legion encounters. Unlike other currencies, incubators drop with an item level which determines the item level of its reward as well as which items can drop. An item type can only drop if the incubator's item level is equal or greater than the item's minimum drop level.

The amount and minimum level of monsters that needs to be killed depends on incubator type as well as item level of the incubator.

When an incubator is about to fully incubate, a bar and icon resembling skill gem level up pop up will be displayed on the right.
