Marks are a type of spell skill. They are a subset of curse skills and share the curse cap with Hexes. By default, a monster can have only one curse debuff at a time, though players can increase this cap by allocating passive skills or equipping unique items. However, Marks also have their own maximum cap of 1. There is currently no way to increase this cap. In addition, only one monster can be Marked at a time.
Since Mark skills can curse only one target, they are more suited for single target. While Unique monsters usually have less Hex effectiveness, this does not diminish the effectiveness of Marks.
