I've been pondering how map pages should look like. The initial thought was of course to rework it according to [[Path of Exile Wiki:Manual of Style/area]]. But as I've done a few of those ([[The Shaper's Realm]]) using both item and area infoboxes I've noticed that their different looks doesn't really mesh well with it each other, they double the page height and often include the same information. I think it's important that the maps gets the {{tlx|Area item drops}} template as soon as possible but I'm not sure about the rest. Divination Card Item2 Module Overhaul

While editing The Cartographer to be in line with the update I saw that the Acquisition space which is intended to hold drop location information is really small and easy to miss on first sight compared to the old drop restriction text in place. Any plans/ideas on how to update the divination card pages without making them less intuitive for users? Furthermore the Divination Card tables are all missing. Tried to use the drop_areas property but got confused on where to find those area IDs for example for The Sewers. Any guidance on where to find them? --Shmaobro (talk) 18:10, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

The divination card list was replaced with the list from List of divination cards, nothing was showing in those old tables because the divination cards has moved to the {{item}} template and the old table isn't compatible with that one, nor do we want that because it requires to manually adding the div cards to the template which we're trying to steer away from. Once editors starts adding the drop info inside the {{item}} template we can just replace the text in the drop restriction header with a query. I did a little mockup here just to get a feel of the potential.
To find the area ids you can check out Template:Item#Finding_areas. Using that query as a base yields

Finding area ids will be more intuitive and easier to find once all the areas follows the Path_of_Exile_Wiki:Manual_of_Style/area. It's a work in progress.

I think we'll leave the text for now, until we get some more thoughts on how drops should be presented; query output in plain text or table format is one discussion point I can think of for example. The query definitely needs to be inside a template though so we can control how the information is presented, I updated my little mockup with that idea. Covered Cards A-C at my best ability today, will continue tomorrow. How do we go about old information, some cards only dropped in Merciless zones which are now not equivalent in difficulty and sense for them in their one-playthrough version now (Boundless Realms or Cartographer's Delight for example). Do we remove the old drop locations and hope for players updating them? Mark them as outdated as of now and leave them be? Sorry if this is a rookie question, new to the release procedure. Leave old information out, the drop locations were reworked in 3.0.0 anyway, so only update when the new locations are known. As for text, the drop restrictions are contained in the item template infoboxes and as such are no longer need on item pages. Once updated it can be removed. In The Sewers example supplied above the Area item drops query does not result in items shown. Tested it on both the area Id page and the main page of The Sewers. No, but {{Query area infoboxes}} should be used on all area pages for the correct information. Areas added by area ID to the divination cards item template are in the divination card table referred to their ID page instead of their main page. Is there any way to link to the main pages containing all the user relevant information instead? --Shmaobro (talk) 15:24, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

How do we go about cards like The Gambler. If we leave out the area drops in the item template, it is missing for the area drops query. If we include every area, it clogs up the divination card table like crazy. Do we have a convenient solution to this or do we have to manually add the items to the area drops table generated by the query afterwards? Newbie ready to help

Hey! I'm newbie here, but my main reason to be here is to help with technical stuff - advanced templates are something I like to play with. The point is that I'm rather busy, so... Are there something that is needed at first? Or maybe something rather difficult, so I could help? BTW I never used LUA on Wikipedia yet, but if I'd have to, I'm programming for over 20 years, so I don't have problems with writing in languages I don't know yet.
