Fire Nova Mine is a mine skill. When detonated, this mine creates a series of novas, each one dealing higher fire damage than the previous.

Skill Functions and Interactions

Detonation - The mine is not destroyed immediately on detonating and needs to be alive for additional novas to be cast. The mine can be killed during this time and prevents further novas.

Casting Speed - Fire Nova Mine is one of the only mines that is heavily influenced by player casting speed. As with all traps/mines/totems, Fire Nova Mine uses the casting speed and other stats of the player that placed the mine when it casts its skill. This means that the higher the casting speed modifier that the player has, the shorter the amount of time it takes for Fire Nova Mine to repeat its casts. It does not grant a bonus to your character, but to skills in sockets connected to it. Place into an item socket connected to a socket containing the Active Skill Gem you wish to augment. Right click to remove from a socket. a very useful support gem as it causes Fire Nova Mine to hit targets within its specified range with the repeated Nova casts faster, and lowers the potential for enemies to escape the area between Nova casts.

Damage - The tooltip of Fire Nova Mine only shows it's base damage and it's actual damage is a lot higher. To get the actual damage of a Level 20 Fire Nova Mine, multiply the tooltip by 5.8 (1+1.3+1.6+1.9) for the base skill and 10.5 with the +2 repeats enchantment (1+1.3+1.6+1.9+2.2+2.5).

Base mine detonation time is 0.35 seconds. Fire 2 additional projectiles at all gem levels. Fires an additional projectile for every 2 prior Mines in Detonation Sequence. Each mine applies 1 to 2 fire damage to hits against enemies near it, up to a maximum of 64 to 96 at gem level 1. By gem level 20, each mine applies 12 to 18 fire damage, up to a maximum of 601 to 901.
