Scarab

Scarabs are a type of map fragment. They do not open portals to new areas, but are instead used to augment existing areas with various effects.

Scarabs are primarily found within the Safehouses of the Immortal Syndicate in the Intervention department. The quality of Scarabs depends on the rank of the member (guaranteed Rusted/Polished/Gilded Scarab at Rank 1/2/3). They also drop from the Syndicate Mastermind and occasionally from a Syndicate member as a Bargain option.

Winged Scarabs can be obtained in the Mastermind's Lair from an Intervention member who was at Rank 3. They can also be obtained by Harvesting a Vivid Vulture, which has a chance of giving a crafting option that upgrades a Scarab, with a chance to upgrade it to a Winged variant.

Vendor recipe

Players can use the vendor recipe system to swap undesirable scarabs for a potentially more desirable one. Vendoring 2 scarabs of the same tier and type (e.g. Rusted Torment ScarabRusted Torment ScarabArea is haunted by 3 additional Tormented SpiritsYoung Tsarsk, you were a broken and forgotten child lying glassy-eyed
in a flesh-pit in Trarthus, but the Order found and cleansed you.Can be used in a personal Map Device.) with 1 Orb of Horizons will result in a random type scarab of the same tier.
