I think we can still kept the img of Mystery Box (1x1) (and other variant ) somewhere as it is not obtainable, but at the same time it is displayed in-game in the vendor window

I haven't deleted it, but the "hidden item" shown in the vendor window is a different image than the 1x1 mystery box though, is it not?

Ok, may be they changed it. At least the guild fossil implicit (1x1) and the 5 to 1 prophecy, and 3 to 1 unique (4x2) use new art. But i think i saw this in-game before File:Mystery Box (2x4) inventory icon.png

Seem the "is_drop_restricted " parameter affects the upgrade path from displaying for harbinger unique items and on Infused Beachhead Map. Or i am not sure it just need null edit or not

Any chance you can locate the module behind the autogeneration of item acquisition ? It seems time consuming to eliminate generic dagger from The Road to Power card manually (Gnarled Branch can be done manually as it is the only staff that does not have 6S thus ineligible to The Flora's Gift and etc), as well as adding other card such as new influence item cards to the system

I think we should be cautious using mw.loadData. I don't remember the reason but it has been a conscious decision to use require instead. For example we always use require to load all those datamodules using m_cargo.store_from_lua.

I'm not aware of any reason not to use it as long as it's being used according to the documentation. It's supposed to offer better performance for loading large tables.

The idea was that module:cargo was going to be atomic so you could easily copy/paste it to other wikis. Not sure how often that happens though so maybe it's not worth the duplication of util functions.

I'm not sure how useful it is to ensure that modules are atomic though. Virtually all modules have inter-dependencies. However, if you think it's important, I can reverse the changes.

No I don't think it's important. I think cargo related modules are usually copied from the LOL wiki nowadays so I don't see much point in keeping it atomic either. It was more for context and there are some comments that still mention it in the module.

Hi, I noticed that all my old images have the copyright tag added, but the new images don't. Will the Vinibot add the copyrights to it later or do I have to do it manually? Thanks.

It depends. When files are categorized properly, I can write a bot to add the copyright info. When files are not categorized, I usually have to add it manually, along with a category.

Sounds good. Will your bot be able to auto add the copyright for weird categories like Category:Atlas icons and Category:Horticrafting icons?

Yeah, I can do that. The bot isn't something that just runs all the time in the background; I do have to selectively set it up and set it to run. So if you find any files that aren't tagged as they should be, go ahead and let me know here or on Discord.

I apologize for uploading 147 files without specifying a category. I didn't know that it was possible to do this by first creating a category and then uploading files to it.

If it is possible to delete these files, I will re-upload them to the category.

What I'm doing right now is going through the stylesheets and removing anything that doesn't need to be there. We might be switching to FandomMobile some time soon, and we don't know exactly what that will entail, so I'll eventually be modifying the stylesheets again. What I'm hoping for with FandomMobile is that we will have a way to serve a stylesheet to both desktop and mobile, so that we don't have so much duplication. At the moment, I'm doing so using the Gadgets extension, but that will have to change when we switch to FandomMobile, because Gadgets will be suppressed on the mobile view according to that article.

The Gadgets extension does not appear to be installed on the Russian wiki, which is probably why your changes aren't working. You could try asking Pcj about that, but like I said, things are going to be changing again in the near future anyway, so for now you might just want to revert the stylesheets to how they were set up before.

What's the reason that you want the subscript for the footnote to the announcement page at the end of line? I've been placing it after the item name for several years now.

As I explained in the revision summary, most English style guides agree that the footnote marker for a reference substantiating a statement should be placed at the end of the appropriate sentence.

If possible the league pages should either have dynamic start/end dates to accurately reflect time zones or list the time zone they are referring to next to the date. For example, [Metamorph league] says it ends on 2020-03-10 when for many time zones it ended on 2020-03-09. So it should either say (NZT) at the end or be dynamic so that there is more clarity regarding the start/end dates.

If you copy paste the date from [1] as suggested in the template:Event docs it should be fine. That date is always defined in UTC.

Hey there are two issues with the responsive tables:

  • On some of the skill progression tables it seems to be a few inches short in terms of horizontal size, leading to a horizonal scrollbar
  • The row headings scroll over the table header (i.e. 1, 2, 3, scroll over "Level")

Looks like this is a display issue unique to Firefox. I'm not seeing the horizontal scrollbar in Chrome or Edge.

I think FF might consider the vertical scrollbar for the size or causing it to add the horizontal one as well. Chrome doesn't do this, but when on Chrome it seems there is a single row of pixels that is transparent above the heading (causing text to appear through it) which isn't present on Firefox :/

Isn't 6-8 rows of displayed levels a little too small? Perhaps it should aim to show around 20 levels?

I think I've manged to fix both issues with some caveats though. The bar is a bit off to the side on all browsers now, but I think that's a fine price to pay. The heading row also moves up one pixel when scrolling, as that fixes the problem on chrome. Is there a way to make those two things FF and chrome exclusive in css? I suppose it could be done via javascript, I've added them to the css for all browsers now though.

It would be a great help if you could help synchronizing Prophecy/Overhaul with Prophecy. You can do so by editing the individual prophecies and adapting <nowiki>{{Prophecy description|objective=|reward=}}</nowiki> accordingly.

What do you think is the best approach for switching the item module calls gradually to the new item module?

I can't do everything at once but there is a bit of a problem with il when it may link against the old or new template randomly.

I was thinking of making a comparability mode for il that basically tries to fetch the SMW version first, and if that fails uses the old template. Lists are still something I'll have to manually take care of

Yeah, I've done some preparations for it. Basically it would that the il template is changed in a way that links to a special function that uses pcall on the new item link, if that returns an error instead it uses the other item module.

Only problem it would sightly obfuscate certain other errors from the new item link, for example items not being found due to misspelling or being duplicated. But perhaps that is something that can be fixed when all things are using the new module in general.

Near as i can tell, you can force the bg colour for the math formulae via css (using the dreaded !important), but then the text is illegible

Hey, i like the new design for legacy variants. I'm updating the legacy variants of shields atm. What should we do with uniques, that got new mods, like Chernobog's Pillar? I'm not really happy with just leaving a blank line but I'm also not happy with doing nothing.

I agree, that it should be compared to the current version and not the next one (my oppinion). About the non existing mods: I like to cross them out and make them gray. But i think it would be even better if the'd have the same opacity and text size as the other mods, that are not new.

The reason I made it large is to draw attention to the fact that there's a difference. It's a minor typographical difference. I don't know which way would be better, to emphasize it or de-emphasize it.

Wouldn't it more sense to name the images "File:xxx buff icon.png" instead of status icons? I mean the generally the game refers to all those kinds of "status" effects as buff (auras, charges, debuffs, anything). The images are also located in 2DArt/BuffIcons (or 2DArt/SkillIcons).

I'm calling it "status" because that seems more generic than "buff". Template:Status is intended to be used for buffs, debuffs, status ailments, flask effects, charges, and anything else we need.

Might be one of the case where it is better to stick what you suggest (-- despite being inconsistent with the game, I think it makes more sense then "buff" esp for anything negative). Maybe I'll hijack the template in the future to export some info from the game.

The original discussion on changing the links in the div card drop locations was about adding the word map to the links to improve the readability of the divination card page table, moreso than using the il template. Why do you not want the word map there? Are we planning on having separate pages for the areas and the items some time soon?

Well the problem with putting "Drop Location: Crematorium Map" for instance, is that it doesn't read the right way, grammatically. A Crematorium Map is an item, while the area itself is called Crematorium.

I don't think any PoE player would misunderstand what is meant by "Drop Location: Crematorium Map", while "Drop Location: Crematorium" has a fairly high chance of being misunderstood. What about putting map in brackets like we do difficulty: Crematorium (Map)?

That's not a bad idea. Headings might be a bit cumbersome, so if we want to put "Crematorium (Map)" or "Crematorium (Map Area)", that would be fine.

Looking over the list - the unique maps could just have (Unique Map), also. Whether we want to colour them unique, I don't know. I sometimes wish the game used even more distinctive colour coding than it already does (eg for things like difficulties, acts, 7 colours for the 7 classes) so we could use it and have players instantly recognise it.

Hijacking comments: For classes, they're associated to attributes which more or less have colours (i.e. see the gems, nodes), i.e. blue/int, red/str, green/dex. The hybrid classes could get a mix of those colours, something like: <span style="color: rgb(200, 200, 0);">Str/Dex</span> <span style="color: rgb(200, 0, 200);">Str/Int</span> <span style="color: rgb(0, 200, 200);">Int/Dex</span> <span style="color: rgb(160, 160, 160);">Str/Dex/Int</span> (scion is a bit problematic, cause grey is used for "normal" items as well)

Btw is there a reason you use a lot of spaghetti code in Module:Item? In quite a few placed it could be reduced to iterate over a table because a lot of things do the same really.
