Missing New Fated Unique Prophecies[]

3 were added in Delve, but have not been added here. [For the future: 1 more coming in Betrayal.] Entranced (talk) 04:36, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

Level restrictions[]

Some prophecies definitely stop spawning after a certain level. I've been farming prophecies in standard, breach and legacy leagues, i tried starting at level 65 and still got bad prophecies, but after level 68, there's a lot of prophecies that stop spawning. Things like 20% quality on weapon, Armour, reading environmental lore for scrolls of wisdom...could we add this to the wiki? I can make a list of prophecies that stop spawning from my experience, but i don't feel comfortable editing tables. --Pyromancer04 (talk) 23:48, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

Difficulty restrictions[]

Alot of the notes being added state propechies are restricted to normal difficulty only. While this might be correct for some propechies it certainly isn't for all of them, they're simply restricted to the same difficulty as where the prophecy was created. twitticles (talk) 13:32, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

Chain Prophecy table[]

Can someone make a "sort-able" table for it? Is kinda ... long and messy table for that category, make it sort by type so that ppl can check the type of prophecy chain easier, thx --Vironlawck (talk) 14:28, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

What do you mean "type of prophecy chain"? — Freeeeez aka TheFrz – 14:36, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Seal Costs[]

How should we go on about documenting the Seal Cost of Prophecies? Maybe adding a new column for this critical information? I will add Seal Cost information to the notes until someone more knowledgeable about this wiki stuff can make more constructive contribution! --Shmaobro

Reforged Bonds[]

Did somebody else receive five Orbs of Fusing upon completing the Reforged Bonds Prophecy? Want more confirmation before moving it to another table. --Shmaobro (talk) 12:57, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

Got 5x Orbs of Fusing OgreMages (talk) 09:51, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the confirmation, will specify the note and move it to the right table. --Shmaobro (talk) 11:43, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
Looks like I was able to specify the amount but unable to move it to the right table. Every time I tried remove the entry and place it somewhere else through simple copy pasting in the source the server "couldn't handle the request". Can somebody else take a shot at it or tell me what I am doing wrong? I paid attention to keep the table structure intact. --Shmaobro (talk) 12:05, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

Act starter restriction[]

Hi,

I had the feeling you'd get some act related prophecies more easily if you're in the act where you've to do it. Apparently, cf. some notes in the wiki, some prophecies are even fully restricted to a specific act to start.

Do we have any more clues atm ? It may be an important information to state in the intro. Until recently i almost kept getting my prophecies from act 4 merciless the last days. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Harest (talkcontribs) 03:34, 9 June 2016‎ (UTC)

For what its worth it might not be depending on the current act but character level. With my character around level 50 I get way more Prophecies for Act 3 Cruel than for Act 2 Cruel although I did not reach Act 3 Cruel yet. Mark already answered a related question, maybe he is willing to clear things more up? --Shmaobro (talk) 17:08, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
I asked it but the questions were skipped unfortunately, so we don't know. But the more i played, the more it seems to be indeed related to the act you're in for many prophecies. - —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Harest (talkcontribs) 14:36, 14 June 2016‎ (UTC)

Act doesn't matter, only difficulty, according to Chris Wilson -- Magus424 (talk) 22:09, 21 June 2016 (UTC)

Reward: Unique section[]

The Reward: Unique section is completely screwed now, making us have to search for what type of mob we are looking for separately. Whoever edited it should not be allowed to do so anymore —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Csogaki (talkcontribs) 05:39, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

why deleted all information about uniques and mobs? Unique section completly useless now. Just copy text from game. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rendo m (talkcontribs) 17:14, 3 September 2017‎ (UTC)

Please read the section below on SMW rework for discussion on the removal of notes. You can still find them on the individual prophecy pages or at the link provided below, in the aforementioned SMW rework section, to the last version of the page before the rework. If you have a suggestion on how better to redo things, while still incorporating SMW (semantic mediawiki), please feel free to change the page or make your suggestion known here.
--Alleryn (talk) 11:15, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Prophecies listed as items[]

Every Prophecy has its sealed/item version, and the item tag does work for them. However, in trying to preview the entire page to have each prophecy be an item (and thus be consistent with most of the rest of the wiki) instead of just a link I get an error that says: "The pathofexile.gamepedia.com page isn’t working pathofexile.gamepedia.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500." This has me wondering if the fact that it won't show the preview means it would have too much of a load to feasibly implement on the page. Has anyone else gotten that error? If so, how did you go about ensuring that the page could be loaded? —Domo (talk) 09:30, 05 July 2016 (UTC)

There are issues when there are too many templates in large tables, that's why they are just ordinary links. If you read the history of the page you'll notice that the item links were removed at some time because of the difficulties in loading the page. Similar issues were had with Cadiro's offer and you can read about it in its talk page. --Illviljan (talk) 09:44, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

SMW rework[]

So how do people think it's best to approach this? The tables currently have some extra nodes regarding, most of it is covered by the prophecy description itself, but it might be a good idea to add this to the item template so we can show this on the pages or so. (say notes=

I think redoing this is more pressing now that they are permanent and that the sealing costs on this page need to be changed anyway.

Ideas? --OmegaK2 (t|c) 15:05, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

A template link with more information for the prophecy would be useful, and since we can link to the sealed prophecies as items we can move information over to the sealed prophecy pages themselves if that's what would work out better. The notes are very much lacking on the sealed prophecy pages themselves, so adding that to those pages will enable better usability for people who currently must refer to the main prophecy page to get that information.
Along the lines of redoing prophecies, I've noticed that at least one prophecy and divination card have the same title (The Twins, in this case). I looked at the Temple map and found where the divination card should be linked, instead it was the sealed prophecy that got linked despite the link code not including the prophecy part of the prophecy's page title. The page title is normally what sets them apart, but that seems to be bugging out right now, so perhaps there will eventually be another way to tell which type of item is being linked to? —Domo (talk) 01:52, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
My idea is to create subcategories for each prophecy type, e.g. Category:Master mission prophecies, then put each one into tables like:
{{#ask: [[Category:Master mission prophecies]] |?Has prophecy prediction text=Information |?Has prophecy seal cost in normal difficulty=Seal Cost }}
This would leave out the current notes, but those are accessible from each individual prophecy page (or can be added as necessary). It would replace this column with the text from the prophecy, so at least there would be some info.
You can see sort of what it would look like at User:Alleryn/sandbox/List_of_Prophecies (though this currently lacks the division into subcategories).
--Alleryn (talk) 09:52, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
The notes could still be added later when the prophecies itself support that. The seal cost would maybe look better in the front. Molldust (talk) 12:49, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
I'm going to go ahead and make this change. I went through and moved the notes that seemed most relevant to the individual prophecy pages. Many of the notes seemed out of date. If anyone wants to use the old notes for anything, they can be found at https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Prophecy&oldid=380512
--Alleryn (talk) 03:16, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
We should use {{Query base items}} where possible but it's missing prophecy-related properties for now. — thefrz — 06:55, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
I've added support for the seal cost and prediction text to the item tables (use prophecy=1 to show all prophecy params at once). About the notes that used to be there, the question is how to add them. Ideally they should only be added once to the individual prophecy pages, but on the individual pages it probably looks nicer in the text section instead as part of the item box. I could add an parameter to the template and then make a template which can be put into the article where we want the description to appear for example. --OmegaK2 (t|c) 22:56, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
What about inline annotations? Text stays there and gets assigned to a SMW property. Molldust (talk) 08:51, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Could you please elaborate what do you mean? — thefrz — 17:41, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

He means using properties inline like [[My property::Value]] which might be the better solution for general description text like the one on the pages.--OmegaK2 (t|c) 18:32, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

Chaos Shard has an example of inline property definition: Finish any Master's mission: A full stack combines into a [[Combines to::Chaos Orb]].. The analogue for A Gracious Master would be [[Has target::Finish any Master's mission.]] and [[Has reward::Triples reputation and favour gained for that mission. The bonus is additive with daily mission bonus.]]. If you want to inlcude links into the code, you'd have to create a template and forward the text to it: {{Prophecy Target|Finish any [[Master]]'s mission.}}. Matter of taste. I don't know if Template:Il can be incorporated because it expands into the wikitext. OmegaK2 should know better. Molldust (talk) 18:38, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

Okay I have no clue what I'm doing editing this, but felt the recent change is really bad IMO. All the description text is bolded and too bright, making it hard to look at. Why would you need to know the in-game prophecy description? If you are looking for a prophecy, you either have it yourself in which you have the lore text, or you are looking for a specific one which you'd know the name or details of, so the old description would work. I can't think of a single use for having the in-game description there over the old one. It essentially made the entire wiki page useless, as why would you use it over googling the actual prophecy or going to it's wiki page directly? It was a hub of incredibly useful info for me as I ran a large amount of prophecies, and now I have to open multiple pages if I want to check for them. From what I can tell I think you are trying to include both descriptions, but I think the change should be reverted, there simply is no need for this change, it ruined the page over helping it Pharrosvb (talk) 09:19, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
It will come back, don't worry. If you followed the discussion above, you'd see the details.Molldust (talk) 01:10, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
Someone has already edited the page back to the original, and I have to agree with him. "It will come back" isn't a valid reason dude. You can't erase all the progress on the page in order to experiment. If you want to change how it works, then change how it works, but don't do just do it halfway. The last edit was almost a whole week ago. You're leaving the wiki in a worse state for an entire week with no change because you want to experiment on how it works, it had zero problems with it's previous version. You can say you would change it to try and include everything, but there's no actual good reason to do that, and it took too long, disrupting people who are actually using the wiki page. If you want to "improve" it, then do that in the same time period, because you're fucking with everyone else using the page. Pharrosvb (talk) 10:43 PM, 13 September 2017 (EST)
I agree with what Pharrosvb is saying. Molldust, you can always create a test page in your userspace, rather than experimenting on the actual article. You shouldn't be making half-baked edits that remove valuable information. —Vini (t|c) 05:00, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
For the record, I didn't make the initial switch. I just wanted to point out that it wasn't intend to be left like this. I'll throw on the bot to do some work. It needs manual cleanup, so I'd be glad if both of you could help then. Molldust (talk) 07:42, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Use {{Prophecy description}} on the prophecy pages to replace the sections. Support for the columns will be added to the item table. --OmegaK2 (t|c) 08:34, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Current progress is shown at Prophecy/Overhaul. The remaining prophecies need fixing by porting their current Prophecies description onto the respective prophecy page. Molldust (talk) 09:42, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
I don't think it has been mentioned before but there's no query that catches all the uncategorised prophecies in the overhaul page yet, I suspect that table will run into the query limit with all the subcategories that are in use at the moment. There's {{#ask: Has base item::Prophecy |format=count}} prophecies and all of them needs to be manually categorized now to show up here, are we sure all of them are categorized? --Illviljan (talk) 20:35, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Additional information on prophecy pages[]

Hello all,

I'm interested in adding information to the prophecy pages themselves, but I'm wondering about the best way to go about it, and I have a couple questions.

1. Is there a reason that every prophecy is listed as a sealed prophecy? It seems confusing to say they can only be obtained by sealing a prophecy, and not also by speaking with Navali. I assume this has something to do with the item template, but I was not able to find the prophecies in the item template.

2. I'd like to add information such as how to complete, and what your reward is for completion. Is the best way to go about this to do it manually, one by one? Or is there a template that can be edited.

I took a couple leagues off and came back for breach, and was frustrated with how difficult it was to figure out how to complete each prophecy. I didn't even realize there was additional information on the main page, because google would send me directly to the prophecy page of whichever I searched. I feel like some additional information would be useful for new and returning players.

If anyone has any information that could be helpful I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to get a jump on this to hopefully have it completed by the beginning of the next league. xmarsh12x (talk)

I'm guessing those pages were meant to represent only the sealed prophecy items, but I don't care much for that. We do need a place to describe information about each individual prophecy. There's no reason we can't use the existing pages to do that. I'd be glad if you could create a demo in your userspace of what you had in mind for any one prophecy in particular. Maybe myself and others can provide better feedback that way. —Vini (t|c) 22:45, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Some time ago I've edited all prophecies for fated items (example). I think we could edit other pages like this one, what do you think? --Amongalen (talk) 11:37, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
