This is meant to be an fun theorycraft of how an Elementalist rework might look. Suggestions welcome.

Explanation

The Elementalist is an ascendancy that has not seen significant play since the removal of elemental proliferation from Beacon of Ruin in the Bestiary League patch (v3.2.0). [explanation]

My goals for this little rework are to modernize the Elementalist's design and to provide more interesting options that really reinforce Elementalists as the true masters of elemental damage in Path of Exile.

Overview

The Elementalist specializes in Elemental damage in all its myriad forms. Beyond just damage, they also utilize elemental ailments, elemental heralds, and golems.

Skill Modifiers Preceding Passive
Liege of the Primordial 1% of Damage dealt by your Golems is Leeched to you as Life
Summoned Golems are Immune to Elemental Damage
+1 to maximum number of Golems
25% increased Effect of Buffs granted by your Golems per Summoned Golem
10% increased Elemental Damage
5% increased Effect of Buffs granted by your Golems
  → Elemancer +1 to maximum number of Golems
25% increased Effect of Buffs granted by your Golems per Summoned Golem
3% more Golem Damage per Summoned Golem
Primordial
(Equipping, socketing, or allocating three items or passives with Primordial grants +1 to maximum number of Golems from The Anima Stone.)
10% increased Elemental Damage
5% increased Effect of Buffs granted by your Golems
Pendulum of Destruction Grants Level 20 XYZ
(XYZ is a Stance skill that reserves no mana and can either grant 75% increased Elemental Damage or 75% increased Area of Effect.)
10% increased Elemental Damage
8% increased Area of Effect
Paragon of Calamity 8% reduced Fire Damage taken while affected by Herald of Ash
10% more Fire Damage while affected by Herald of Ash
8% reduced Cold Damage taken while affected by Herald of Ice
10% more Cold Damage while affected by Herald of Ice
8% reduced Lightning Damage taken while affected by Herald of Thunder
10% more Lightning Damage while affected by Herald of Thunder
10% increased Elemental Damage
4% increased Attack and Cast Speed
  → Mastermind of Discord 25% reduced Mana Reservation of Elemental Herald Skills
25% increased Effect of Elemental Heralds on you
(Herald of Ash, Herald of Ice, and Herald of Lightning are Elemental Herald Skills.)
Damage penetrates 25% Fire Resistance while affected by Herald of Ash
Damage penetrates 25% Cold Resistance while affected by Herald of Ice
Damage penetrates 25% Lightning Resistance while affected by Herald of Thunder
10% increased Elemental Damage
4% increased Attack and Cast Speed
Shaper of Desolation You have Igniting Conflux if you've dealt Fire Damage Recently
(Igniting Conflux means that all damage can inflict Ignite.)
You have Chilling Conflux if you've dealt Cold Damage Recently
(Chilling Conflux means that all damage can inflict Chill.)
You have Shocking Conflux if you've dealt Lightning Damage Recently
(Shocking Conflux means that all damage can inflict Shock.)
Immune to Elemental Ailments
10% increased Elemental Damage
5% chance to Freeze, Shock, and Ignite
  → Aerokineticist Shocks from your Hits always increased Damage taken by at least 15%
Your Lightning Damage can inflict Sap
(Sap causes affected enemies to deal 20% less Damage, based on the Lightning Damage of the Hit.)
Cannot take Reflected Lightning Damage
10% increased Elemental Damage
10% chance to Shock
  → Cryotheurge Chills from your Hits always reduce Action Speed by at least 10%
Your Cold Damage can inflict Brittle
(Brittle causes Hits against affected enemies to have +10% Critical Strike Chance, based on the Cold Damage of the Hit.)
Cannot take Reflected Cold Damage
10% increased Elemental Damage
10% chance to Freeze
  → Pryomancer 20% more Damage with Ignite
Your Fire Damage can inflict Scorch
(Scorch lowers the Elemental Resistances of affected enemies by up to 20%, based on the Fire Damage of the Hit.)
Cannot take Reflected Fire Damage
10% increased Elemental Damage
10% chance to Ignite
